You sling 'em out, they crawl back in

Bombs in Haymarket (which is incidentally the only place I've seen Casablanca on the big screen, and yes, I cried). What news to wake up to. New reasons to cry. Sometimes I'm glad I'm now out of 'harms way', sometimes I think I'm not living life to the full. Once upon a time I didn't notice the bugs &etc that made their way indoors... but then someone came in regularly to do the housework that drives me to distraction.

After re-staking out the tomatoes and finishing The Costume yesterday (it is being worn today) I'm at a loose end this morning. It has been raining (of course and is rather soggy under foot) but I have been heroic and sallied forth into the jungle (garden) while the Common Emerald and the Garden Carpet remain in close proximity and on the inside of the bathroom window.

My reward? This little moth which I inadvertently disturbed. It settled briefly on a fence post, then on the climbing rose before settling down somewhere away from my noisy camera. It is, I think (process of elimination has been at work here), the Common White Wave cabera pusaria. I harbour some doubts, however, because the leading edge of the front wing is darker than that in the images I've seen of this moth.
