This unromantical corner of our garden is the otherwise useless place where we park the Council provided green (garden waste) wheelie bin. Above it on the low brick dividing wall are his Lordship's precious pepper plants. There he was this afternoon, idly de-dead leafing them and this fell out and on to the floor.

Not a dead leaf at all, as His Lordship sagely observed. I know I've already posted one photo of this moth this year, and a better one than any of these three to boot. But ... I'm so chuffed at getting to the point where I can look at the thing and say in a bright cheer and dead well informed voice "oh, that's a Blah Blah" I thought I'd post the pics in celebration anyway. And I haven't got IDs for any of the four (or pehaps five) different species in the bathroom this evening, so what the hell. At least this one has a name.

And the middle photo though somewhat unfocused does show how the wings roll up when this moth is at rest. This last one, though technically quite horrible does show the markings from the top down against a more neutral background than the previous post's photo did.
