Brimstone Moth (opisthogratpis luteolata)

Honestly I've given up on this summer. All the red underwings and silver Ys that were commonplace last year ... of them not a sign.

This year we've had far more Brimstones, though. After days of nothing whatsoever there were lots last night, including newbies.

These photos are not of the Brimstone moth that was in last night but of a previous visitor. Last night's photos are embarassingly bad even by my low standard of photography.

Brimstone's seem common in Oxfordshire also this year.

I'm delighted to have found your site and to meet a fellow O.luteolata blogger!
