The Gold Triangle

This moth has been a regular visitor "summer". It took me some time to put a name to it, but I've got there! Which is a relief as it is one of my favourites; I wouldn't believe that something so lovely had evaded naming. Some moths might seem utterly pointless at best or downright destructive; this one is simply lovely to look at and that's all the justification it needs.
This moth is known here in the UK as the Gold Triangle (hypsopygia costalis). According to one source it is known in North America as the Clover Hayworm Moth. It is on the wing in July and August so this one, in the bathroom last night, might be one of the last I see this year.
